**  We will be having a St. Patrick's Day Worship Service, Wednesday night March 17th at 6:00pm.

**   Holy Week Services will be March 29th - April 2nd.   The Benton County Ministerial Alliance will be hosting the services at the First United Methodist Church, beginning promptly at noon. A short time of congregational and/or special music will precede a short message from one of our local area ministers.  Bro. Carey will be preaching on Monday, March 29th.  When the sermon is over all will be invited to join together for lunch in the fellowship hall of the church.  Let's all remember Christ and the wonderful gift of salvation that he gave us!

**  Hopefully, you have received the survey that was sent to you in the mail.  We would like each person to fill one out.  You will find additional surveys at the front of the church.  Please get as many as you need for your family and remember to return them back to the church when you have them completed.  If you did not receive a survey please contact the church office and we will be happy to send you one or as many as you need.  Thank you for taking the time to fill them out.

**   Please remember to fill your baby bottles with your spare change and return them to the church.  All donations will go to Life Choices to help protect the lives of unborn children.

**  We have sent  2 Care Packages to Iraq, one for Jason Sissom and another for a soldier in his unit, that doesn't have any family, church, or anyone to remember him.  If you would like to send Jason a card or letter, his address is on the bulletin board at the front of the church, or feel free to call the church office.  We will be sending more care packages in the future.  This is just a small way for us to show our support for our military.

**  Our next Fellowship Meal will be March 21st, in the Fellowship Hall of the church, immediately after our worship service.  The theme this month is "Potluck".  Those in charge of the meal are Andy and Mary Alice Frazier, David and Gail Markham, Harrell and Joyce Allen, Marshall and Faye Smith, J.D. Riley, and Donna Trull.

**  A Congregational Meeting has been called by the Session for March 28, 2010, to be held at the close of our worship service.  The Session  will be asking the congregation to consider changing our bylaws back to numbering the session at seven elders.  If that measure passes, we will proceed to elect two new elders to the Session.  The Session has nominated Jon Hardy and Joyce Allen as elders, both of whom have met with the pastor and have agreed to serve.

**  Maundy Thursday will be April 1st, which celebrates the night of the Last Supper during Holy Week.  For our Maundy Thursday service this year we will be doing something entirely different.  The theme of the evening will be "Christ in the Passover".  We will be having a Jewish Passover meal, called a "seder".  The Lord's Supper, will be incorporated in the meal as we worship our Lord.  Not only will you enjoy a great meal and fellowship, you are likely to leave understanding not only the Passover, but the Lord's Supper better than ever before.  The event for the whole family will be from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Thursday April 1, 2010.  We will need child volunteers to make it a real Passover, and we will be taking a head count so that we will know how much food to prepare.

Let's fill our sanctuary with the smell and sight of beautiful Easter lilies on Palm Sunday, March 28th.  The church will be offering Easter lilies at $8.00 each that can be given in memory or honor of someone special to you. They will be displayed in the sanctuary beginning on Palm Sunday and through Easter Sunday.  A special insert to the bulletin will appear listing who each lily is given by as well as who they are meant to honor or remember.

Some of our members have grown frustrated, because they could not get access to the sanctuary or office area, due to the lock on the door at the middle of the church.  The Session has decided that the door will remain unlocked during daytime business hours.  If you wish to have access to this part of the building at other times, you may see any session member, the pastor, or the secretary who will make arrangements for you to have a key.  This church is the Lord's and we want all whom He has called here to have access to it.

**  Don't forget our Fellowship Brunch every Sunday morning at 9:30am.  We will be serving coffee, juice, donuts, sausage and biscuits, etc.  On special occasions a regular breakfast will be served.  Don't miss out on the good food and the warm fellowship.  Remember this is a great time for us to really get to know each other.   Come and stay for Sunday School and Worship Service.

**  A special thank you to all who volunteer to help keep our church clean and beautiful.  If you would like to volunteer your talents, please contact the church office.

**  We would like to start a new game on Sunday mornings, called "Guess Who That Is".  Bring an old picture of someone when they were a child, before they were married, a time when we would not really know them or at least remember them.  We will scan it and put it in the computer.  Then it will be shown on the screen and we will guess who it is.  At the end of the worship service the answer will be shown on the screen.  (It must be brought or emailed to the church no later than the Friday before the worship service)  Let's have some fun!

**    We need your help in keeping our church clean.  The church desperately needs volunteers to clean.  We have recently renovated our Educational Department and part of the Sanctuary.  We must keep it nice and clean. The only way we can do that is if someone takes the time to clean it each week. If you have the time and energy and are available please contact the church office.  Your church needs you!!  Let's all do our part!!

Thank you for supporting the Food Pantry.

Cumberland Presbyterian Church is asked to supply canned pork and beans, hominy, viennas, peanut butter, and cereal.
